Overview
Red River Nordic cross country programs range from the ages of 4 all the way up to Masters, with each following the Long Term Athletic Development (LTAD) Model to promote Sport for Life and personal well-being for every athlete.
All youth programs begin in October, while ages 12+ programs operate year round. During the winter season, most program sessions are run out of Windsor Park Nordic Centre. During pre-season, dryland sessions are primarily held at King’s Park, and or Bird’s Hill Park.
All members are encouraged to participate in local competitions across Manitoba, as RRN routinely sends athletes to these races. RRN operates team trips during the competition season to give athletes age appropriate opportunities outside of Manitoba. For more advanced athletes, CCSAM’s Provincial Development Program provides opportunities to attend high level races across Canada.
Visit the individual program pages for further details on cost, expectations, and commitment.
