Provincial Championships Wrap Up

Congratulations to all the skiers who competed in Flin Flon, Manitoba this past weekend at the SaskMan Cup/ Provincial Championships (Classic)/ MB Cup races.  The weekend was enjoyed by all.  There were two bus loads of racers, parents and supporters from Red River Nordic, Boundary Trails and Kenora Nordic who headed north bright and early Friday morning for the competition, returning to Winnipeg late Sunday evening.  Everyone was thrilled to ski in an area with so much snow and challenging courses, with steep climbs and fast descents.  All the racers should be very proud of their performances.  Thanks to the Flin Flon Ski Club for hosting a fabulous event.

Jamboree Wrap-Up

The 10th Annual Jackrabbit Jamboree was a big success this past weekend with 100 children from various Jackrabbit clubs throughout the city and province participating.  The mascot race was a close call with Sparky the Fire Dog edging out Tony the Touque at the finish line.

We would like to thank this year’s sponsors:  Qualico Homes, CCSAM, Cross Country Canada, Olympia Cycle and Ski on Portage, Olympia Cycle and Ski on St.Mary’s, and Nav Canada.

Of course, we can’t forget the numerous volunteers who came out and gave their time to ensure the children had a fun day.  Thanks to all of you.

A Very Successful Sprints Event

Congratulations to all the competitors in Saturdays Sprints Championships at Windsor Park Nordic Centre.  The weather was nice, course conditions were good (especially considering the minimal amount of snow this year), and everyone seemed to enjoy the day.  A special Big Thanks to our Volunteers!   Without all of you, this event could not have happened.  Well done!
